Chrislie Formulations, a division of BBeautiful Products LLC, has launched Lashem, a product designed to address the needs of consumers who have been dissatisfied with the irritation experienced with some eyelash growth products.

According to the company, Lash growth products have seen a surge in volume growth since last year’s launch of Latisse, the only FDA-approved lash growth product. Available only by prescription, it reported sales of $50 million last year. Market research firm NPD reported that sales of lash enhancing products in department stores tripled in dollar volume last year.

“Lashem’s formula is truly superior in that it is both efficacious and non-irritating. Our clinical studies substantiate this fact with results that show 25% growth after two weeks,” notes Tricia Buenvenida, executive VP, adding that unlike current formulations at retail such as Latisse or Lilash, Lashem is free of prostaglandins, the glaucoma drug that, until recently, powered most eyelash growth products and was associated with side effects that could harm the eyes and change their color. These include itchiness, irritation, redness, and discoloration of the iris.

Lashem, a dual-patented formula, the company says, provides a delivery system that permeates the active ingredient, an oligo polypeptide, directly to the root of the lash, while simultaneously addressing the irritation via a soothing active. The combination of other natural, raw materials including panthenol, biotin, green tea, cucumber, goji berry and grapeseed extracts also delivers strength, antioxidants and other healing properties, to provide optimum efficacy.

Buenvenida also reported that they were thrilled with the amount of positive consumer feedback Lashem has already received. “Women of all ages are thrilled with Lashem, that they’ve seen their lashes grow, it is gentle and natural… all very positive feedback,” she says.

Lashem retails for $85.00.
